Project Advisory Services & Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V)

We are an approved IV&V vendor for the State of Indiana.

We are an approved IV&V vendor for the State of Indiana.

As part of Stonemill Consulting’s project advisory services, we offer a focused executive-level review of IT-related projects. In the government world, this is called Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V). In the business world, this is usually called Project Management Office (PMO), or Project Portfolio Management.

IV&V is a third-party oversight service for both public and private sector organizations. It is used to evaluate complex technology projects, to identify current and future risks, and to identify improvements that enable project success to achieve project goals.

Stonemill Consulting performs program evaluations, project risk and controls assessments, contract compliance analyses and cost reviews. If you have a troubled project, we will conduct a detailed risk assessment and provide concrete recommendations to get the project back on track. We bring focused industry knowledge and extensive experience in managing both the financial and technical aspects of major projects and programs.

We mentor your project managers to maximize project success and help your executive sponsors focus on the big issues that have the greatest positive impact on the project.

Having a Stonemill Project Advisor on your project like having your own personal CIO watching your project.

Project Evaluation & Rescue

Let’s face it, not every project goes as planned. Projects get in trouble and need to be “rescued.” Stonemill has experienced consultants with decades of executive-level IT experience.

Executive-Level Oversight

Large, mission critical projects are like a living organism.  They are in constant motion.  Things are changing rapidly.  They need constant attention to make sure they are on track, but you don’t have time to watch over them every day.

Vendor Management

Getting IT projects done without using outside vendors is almost always an uphill battle. The bigger the project, the more likely you are to use a vendor, but there is an art to selecting and managing them.
